Declared Free By The Son

John 8:31-36
31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33 They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”
34 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Romans 8:1-2
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death.
Devotional: Jesus declared a powerful truth: "If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." Many people experience freedom but continue living bound—shackled by guilt, shame, fear, or past mistakes. But when the Son sets you free, you're truly free. There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. The law of the Spirit of life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Freedom isn't just a one-time event; it's a daily reality to embrace. The enemy has no power over you except what you give him. Today, Jesus calls you not just to be made free, but to live free—to walk in the newness of life He purchased. Stop giving power to the chains He already broke.
Reflection Question: What old chains are you tempted to pick back up, and how can you resist that temptation today?
