Cultivating Good Soil

Matthew 13:23 (NLT)
23 The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!”

Galatians 6:7-9 (NLT)
7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

Good soil doesn't happen by accident—it's plowed, broken, turned, and prepared. Jesus said good soil represents those who "truly hear and understand God's word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted." The harvest you're praying for is simply waiting for prepared soil. When soil is ready, harvest is inevitable because God's seed is always good. What does preparation look like? Prayer. Repentance—turning from wrong directions. Forgiveness—releasing those who've hurt you. Surrender—opening your hands and heart to God. Worship—declaring His worth above all else. Stop praying only for breakthrough and start praying for good soil. Say daily: "Lord, break what's hard, remove what's buried, uproot what's poisonous, clear what's choking, and prepare my heart." Open the gate. Let the Farmer in.
