Never Lose Your Voice

Luke 18:35-43
35 As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road. 36 When he heard the noise of a crowd going past, he asked what was happening. 37 They told him that Jesus the Nazarene[a] was going by. 38 So he began shouting, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
39 “Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him.
But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 When Jesus heard him, he stopped and ordered that the man be brought to him. As the man came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?”
“Lord,” he said, “I want to see!”
42 And Jesus said, “All right, receive your sight! Your faith has healed you.” 43 Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus, praising God. And all who saw it praised God, too.
Acts 16:25-26
25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. 26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!
Devotional: Blind Bartimaeus knew his miracle was connected to his voice. When the crowd told him to be quiet, he got louder: "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Paul and Silas prayed and sang in prison, and their deliverance came. When victims stay silent, abuse continues. When truth stays silent, darkness grows. When the church stays silent, God's kingdom advances more slowly. You were never called to be quiet. Your voice of prayer, worship, testimony, and declaration matters. It shifts atmospheres. It breaks chains. It builds faith in others. The enemy desperately wants to silence you because he knows the power your voice carries. Today, refuse to be silenced. Let your voice rise in prayer, in praise, in proclamation of God's goodness and power.
Reflection: Where have you been silent when God called you to speak? What needs your voice of faith today?
Closing Prayer: Father, awaken in us a hunger for the secret place. Give us courage to use our voices in prayer. Help us pray not for human approval but for Your glory. May our prayers echo through generations, shaking darkness and advancing Your kingdom. Let us never lose our voice. In Jesus' name, Amen.
