Removing the Hidden Rocks

Matthew 13:20–21 (NLT)
20 The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. 21 But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word.

Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT)
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Shallow soil with underlying rock produces quick growth but no lasting fruit. These rocks represent hidden wounds, unresolved pain, and buried sin that prevent deep spiritual roots. Many believers look strong on the surface—worshiping enthusiastically, saying the right things—but when storms come, they fall because their roots never went deep. What rocks lie beneath the surface of your life? Past trauma you've never addressed? Secret sin you've never confessed? Pride you've never surrendered? It's not easy to dig out these rocks, but the work is worth the harvest. Ask the Holy Spirit to expose what's hidden. Confess it. Surrender it. Let God remove what's preventing you from growing deep roots that can withstand any storm.
