The Helper Who Never Leaves

John 14:16-18
16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate (Comforter, Encourager, Counselor), who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.
18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.

John 14:26
26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

Devotional: Jesus promised something better than His physical presence—the Holy Spirit dwelling within us forever. Unlike the Old Testament, where God's Spirit would come and go, the Holy Spirit takes up permanent residence in believers. He is our Parakletos—counselor, comforter, advocate, and friend. This isn't merely an experience to have once; it's a relationship to cultivate daily. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you, offering supernatural power for natural living. Today, recognize that you're never alone. The Helper is with you in every decision, every struggle, every moment. His presence isn't reserved for "super-spiritual" people—it's God's gift to every believer who opens their heart to receive.

Reflection Question: Have you been living aware of the Holy Spirit's constant presence, or treating Him as a distant concept?
