The God Of Peace Goes With You
Reading: Isaiah 26:3
3 You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
Devotional: Peace is rarely found all at once. It is discovered step by step along a path that runs through rejoicing, through prayer, through thanksgiving, and through the renewal of the mind. At the end of that path is not simply a feeling of calm but the presence of the God of peace himself. He does not just give peace as a gift and send you on your way. He goes with you. When you laid down last night, he was there. When you face this week's uncertainty, he will be there. When the chaos of the world presses in and the noise grows loud, he is still there, guarding your heart and your mind. The peace that passes understanding is not a destination you arrive at and stay forever. It is a companion who walks every mile beside you.
Reflection: What would it mean for you, practically and specifically, to carry the awareness of God's presence with you through every part of this coming week? How might that change what you say, think, and do?
