The Mirror of God's Love

Colossians 1:15-20
Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything. For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

John 7:37-38
On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.  Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

Devotional: God did not leave His love as an abstract concept beyond our sight or reach. He placed a mirror on the earth. His name was Jesus. In Christ, the invisible became visible, the untouchable became touchable, and divine love became something that could be witnessed in human flesh. Jesus crossed every barrier, loved those who rejected Him, and ultimately gave His life for those who crucified Him. That same love now flows like a river of living water within every believer. If you are thirsty today -- worn down by the demands of life -- come and drink. The source of that water never runs dry.

Reflection: In what ways has Jesus made God's love real and tangible in your own life?

Practical Application: Spend time today reading one of the Gospels and observe a specific moment where Jesus demonstrated love in action. Let it shape how you treat one person today.
