Led Through the Wilderness

Deuteronomy 8:2 (NLT)
2 Remember how the Lord your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.

Devotional: The wilderness is rarely where we want to be, but it is often exactly where God needs us. Israel's detour was not a divine mistake -- it was a divine classroom. God was not punishing them by extending the journey; He was preparing them for what the journey was leading toward. The promised land required a prepared people. The same is true for you. The delay you are experiencing may not be a sign that God has forgotten you. It may be a sign that He is doing something in you before He does something for you. Lean into the lesson.

Reflection: What character qualities might God be developing in you during your current season of waiting?

Practical Application: Spend time today in honest self-examination. Ask God to reveal one area where humility, faith, or obedience still needs to grow before your next season begins.
