From Begging to Blessing

Acts 3:8-10
8 He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. 9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, 10 they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

Psalm 40:1-3
1 I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.
2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.

Devotional: Faith without works is dead. The lame man received strength in his ankles, but he still had to stand up. The priests had to step into the Jordan River before the waters parted. Moses had to stretch out his rod before the Red Sea opened. God provides the power, but He requires our participation. This isn't about earning salvation—that's a free gift—but about activating the promises God has given us through obedient action. What step of faith is God asking you to take? Perhaps it's financial discipline, investing in your marriage, pursuing recovery, or committing to spiritual disciplines. Stop waiting for everything to be perfect before you move. God meets us in our obedience. Today, identify one concrete action you can take and do it, trusting God to meet you there.
