Authority in His Name
Matthew 28:18-20
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Mark 16:15-18
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
Devotional: Jesus instructed His disciples to gather, pray, preach, and cast out demons in His name. This wasn't symbolic language—it was a transfer of authority. When an ambassador speaks, they represent their nation's power. When you speak in Jesus' name, you represent heaven's authority. The early church understood this and turned the world upside down. They didn't have seminary degrees or denominational backing—they had the Holy Spirit and faith in Jesus' name. You possess this same authority today. Stop waiting to be "qualified enough" to share Jesus. Your mistakes don't disqualify you; your testimony qualifies you. The power isn't in your perfection but in His name. Step into the authority He's already given you.
