Get Up and Walk

This powerful message takes us back to Acts chapter 3, where we encounter the story of the lame beggar at the Beautiful Gate. The central question posed is profound: what do we do when life has us stuck, sitting at the gate of our breakthrough but unable to move forward? The message reveals three essential steps to rising from our circumstances. First, we must change our focus—stop staring at our empty cup and look up to see what God is offering. Like the beggar who had to shift his gaze from potential donors to the disciples, we often miss our miracle because we're focused on our lack rather than God's provision. Second, we must take the hands extended to us—whether through small groups, counseling, recovery programs, or the body of Christ. God sends help in practical forms, and rejecting these resources is like refusing the boats and helicopter sent to rescue us from the flood. Finally, we must do our part. The lame man's ankles were strengthened, but he still had to choose to stand, to jump, to walk. Faith requires movement. This message challenges us to stop spiritualizing everything while avoiding personal responsibility. Sometimes getting unstuck means making hard choices, doing the work, and taking ownership of our spiritual growth.
