The Believers Reward
What happens the moment a believer draws their last breath? This is not merely a theological question reserved for seminaries and Sunday school classrooms. It is one of the most personal and eternally significant questions any of us will ever face. Drawing from Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 5:8, where he describes being absent from the body as being present with the Lord, we are walked through a compelling biblical case that the believer's spirit immediately enters the presence of Jesus at death. There is no soul sleep, no purgatory, no waiting room. The promise Jesus made to the thief on the cross in Luke 23:43 echoes across every generation: today you will be with me in paradise. That word today carries the full weight of God's faithfulness. We also explore the stunning promise of resurrection found in 1 Corinthians 15, where Paul describes our mortal bodies being raised imperishable, transformed from weakness into glory. The grave, we discover, is not a finish line. It is a temporary resting place while we await the resurrection. For those of us walking through grief or wrestling with our own mortality, this message reframes death not as an enemy but as a doorway, and it anchors our hope in the one who holds the keys to what lies beyond it.
