Give Them Jesus

What happens when we look beyond surface needs and offer something far greater than temporary solutions? In Acts chapter 3, we encounter a powerful story that challenges us to reconsider what we're really called to give to a hurting world. A man lame from birth sits begging at the temple gate, hoping for a few coins to meet his daily needs. But Peter and John see an opportunity to meet a deeper need entirely. Their declaration becomes transformative: 'Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, give I thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.' This moment captures the essence of our mission as believers. We live in a world where people are searching for answers to pain, fear, addiction, and brokenness. Too often, we complicate the gospel with theological arguments, denominational differences, and religious hoops to jump through. But the early church understood something profound: people don't need our elaborate prescriptions or church programs as much as they need Jesus himself. The power isn't in our resources, our eloquence, or our organizational structures. The power is in the name of Jesus, which carries divine authority over every circumstance that afflicts us. When we give people Jesus, we're not offering a temporary fix but a permanent transformation. This isn't about having all the theological answers or being perfect ourselves. It's about sharing the Jesus who has changed our lives with those around us. Nobody can argue with our testimony. They might debate our theology, but they cannot contest our story of redemption and freedom.
