Saved By Grace

In a culture that celebrates hard work and personal achievement, we often carry that same mindset into our spiritual lives, believing we must earn God's favor through our efforts. This message challenges that deeply ingrained thinking by exploring the transformative power of grace—God's unmerited favor that cannot be earned, bought, or worked for. Using the acrostic G-R-A-C-E, we discover that grace is God's Gift to us, Received by faith, Available to everyone, comes through Christ, and brings Eternal life. The contrast between the American work ethic and God's grace becomes clear: while every other religion says 'do,' Christianity declares 'done'—Jesus completed the work on the cross. Through powerful stories like Mephibosheth, the disabled grandson of King Saul who was brought into King David's household and treated as royalty despite having nothing to offer, we see a beautiful picture of how God extends grace to us in our brokenness. The woman caught in adultery receives both mercy and grace from Jesus—'Neither do I condemn you' paired with 'Go and sin no more.' This isn't cheap grace; it cost Jesus His life. Yet it's freely offered to all who will receive it by faith. We're invited to reconnect with this amazing truth: God loves us unconditionally, not based on our performance but on His promises, not based on our goodness but on His grace.
