The Holy Spirit's Power to Hope

Acts 1:4-5
On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.
5 For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

‭‭
Before ascending to heaven, Jesus gave His disciples a critical command: wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because there are levels of hope, joy, and faith that require the Holy Spirit's power to experience. You cannot manufacture genuine hope through positive thinking or willpower alone. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is God's gift that enables you to overflow with hope even in impossible circumstances. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in you, empowering you to rise above despair. If you're trying to fight discouragement in your own strength, you're fighting with one hand tied behind your back. Today, invite the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh. Ask Him to baptize you with supernatural hope that defies your circumstances.
