The Tools in His Toolbox

Hebrews 4:12-16
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.
14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Philippians 4:6-7
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Remember the story of the man in the flood who refused the canoe, the boat, and the helicopter because he was waiting for God to save him? Don't miss God's provision because it doesn't look like you expected. Jesus works through anointed preaching, Bible reading, worship, small groups, spiritual gifts, Christian counselors, and even everyday conversations. He's wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance, but He often delivers that counsel through human vessels. This doesn't diminish His role—it demonstrates His creativity and care. Today's reading reminds us that God's Word is living and active, and we can approach His throne of grace with confidence. Don't wait until you're drowning to accept help. Embrace the tools God provides: join a small group, see a Christian counselor if needed, read your Bible daily, and stay connected to His body. The Counselor speaks—are you listening through all available channels?
