Finding Rest in the Counselor

Matthew 11:28-30
28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

"Come to me, all who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." Jesus extends this invitation not as a distant deity but as our Wonderful Counselor—the One whose wisdom is beyond human comprehension. When Isaiah prophesied about the coming Messiah, he described Him as "wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance." This isn't casual advice; it's divine direction for weary souls. Are you carrying burdens that were never meant for you to bear alone? Financial stress, relational conflict, grief, or addiction? Jesus offers His yoke—not to add weight, but to share the load. His yoke is easy and His burden is light because He walks alongside you. Today, identify the heavy burden you're carrying and consciously transfer it to Him. He's not just willing to help—He's inviting you to let Him.
