Renewing Our Minds

Romans 12:1-2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Depression often distorts our thinking, as it did for Elijah when he believed he was the only faithful person left. God gently corrected Elijah's faulty thinking, reminding him of the bigger picture. Paul encourages us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This involves actively challenging negative thought patterns and aligning our thinking with God's truth. Today, pay attention to your thought patterns. Are there any distorted beliefs you need to confront? How can you intentionally focus on God's promises and truths to renew your mind?
