Overcoming the World's Hatred
John 15:17-19
"This is my command: Love each other. If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you."
Jesus warned His disciples that the world would hate them because they no longer belonged to it. In our current climate of division and hostility, it's easy to feel discouraged. But remember, as followers of Christ, we're called to a higher standard. Our response to hatred should be love. Today, consider how you can show Christ's love to someone who may oppose you or your beliefs. Pray for those who persecute you, and ask God to help you see them through His eyes of compassion.
