Embracing Your Generation

Daily Devotion - August 21, 2025

1 Timothy 4:12-16
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.  Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

The sermon highlighted the importance of each generation rising to meet the challenges of their time. Paul's words to Timothy echo this sentiment, encouraging young believers to set an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Regardless of your age, how can you be a positive influence in your generation? Consider the areas mentioned - speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. In which area do you feel God calling you to grow? Take time to pray for your generation, asking God to use you as an instrument of His love and truth in your sphere of influence.
