Sermon: “Priorities: Family”
Genesis 2:18 (NLT) Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”

# 1 - family is a safe place
Proverbs 14:26  (NIV) Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NKJV) Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

#2 - family is where you teach life.
Ephesians 6:4 (NLT) Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

Luke 2:52 (NKJV) And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (NLT)
5 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 
6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 
7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.

#3 - family is where you enjoy life
Ecclesiastes 9:9 (NLT) Live happily with the woman you love through all the meaningless days of life that God has given you under the sun. The wife God gives you is your reward for all your earthly toil.

#4 - give them a christian home
Joshua 24:15 (NLT) “…But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”
