Message: Generosity – Making Room for Blessing
Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Malachi 3:8-10 (NLT) “Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me! “But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?’
“You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me.
9 You are under a curse, for your whole nation has been cheating me.
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

What is the Tithe? Tithe means “a tenth” part.
Deuteronomy 14:29 (NIV)…so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

Tithing demonstrates that God has first place in my life.

Deuteronomy 14:23 (Living Bible) "…The purpose of tithing is to teach you to always put God in first place in your life."

Tithing reminds me that everything I have was given to me by God.

Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV) "And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Tithing expresses my gratitude to God.

Psalms 116:12 (NLT) What can I offer the Lord for all he has done for me? One answer:

Deuteronomy 16:17 (NKJV) Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.

The Bible says refusing to tithe is robbing God.

Malachi 3:8-9 (NIV) “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings.

Lev 27:30 (NKJV) And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's. It is holy to the Lord.

Tithing gives God a chance to prove himself to us.

Mal 3:10 (NIV) Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

Malachi 3:11 (NKJV) "And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field," Says the Lord of hosts;

Tithing is one way that I love God.

What Should I tithe? The first of all increase
Proverbs 3:9-10 (NIV) 9 Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Where Should I tithe? My church
"Bring your whole tithe to My Storehouse ..."  (Malachi 3:10)

When should I tithe? Consistently
1 Corinthians 16:2 (NIV) On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.

How should I tithe?
Give joyfully.
Give generously.
2 Cor 8:3-4 (NIV) For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints.
Give expectantly.
2 Corinthians 9:6 (NIV) Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

(Luke 6:38 NKJV) “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
