TIME TO CELEBRATE!

Psalm 51:11, “Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head; they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.”

David celebrates the return of the ark of the covenant.

2 Sam 6:5 NLT, “David and all the people of Israel were celebrating before the Lord, singing songs[d] and playing all kinds of musical instruments—lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.”

2 Samuel 6:13-15, NLT, “After the men who were carrying the Ark of the Lord had gone six steps, David sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. 14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might, wearing a priestly garment.[f] 15 So David and all the people of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouts of joy and the blowing of rams’ horns.”

2 Samuel 6:20-22 NLT,  When David returned home to bless his own family, Michal, the daughter of Saul, came out to meet him. She said in disgust, “How distinguished the king of Israel looked today, shamelessly exposing himself to the servant girls like any vulgar person might do!”
21 David retorted to Michal, “I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and all his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord, so I celebrate before the Lord. 22 Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes! But those servant girls you mentioned will indeed think I am distinguished!” 23 So Michal, the daughter of Saul, remained childless throughout her entire life.
Formula for an epic celebration.
The first step to any successful celebration is to CLEAN UP!
Psalm 51:10 KJV
Neh 8:6 NLT, Then Ezra praised the Lord, the great God, and all the people chanted, “Amen! Amen!” as they lifted their hands. Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
Neh 8:10-12, And Nehemiah[b] continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”
11 And the Levites, too, quieted the people, telling them, “Hush! Don’t weep! For this is a sacred day.” 12 So the people went away to eat and drink at a festive meal, to share gifts of food, and to celebrate with great joy because they had heard God’s words and understood them.
The second step is to prepare the MUSIC!
In Neh 12:27, Israel plans to dedicate the wall they built around Jerusalem.  Levites, singers and worshipers were brought in to celebrate joyfully with music.
They had 2 choirs and trumpets and instruments.
GET LOUD!
Neh 12:43, sound of rejoicing could be heard far way.
It’s time to celebrate our great God!  Church should be a place where God’s people come together and honor Him, worship with abandon and rejoice in His goodness.
Psalm 145:7, “They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodness and will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.
Psalm 100, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord…
Phil 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, rejoice!
Psalm 20:5, “We will sing for joy over your victory
Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 34:3, “O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together.
Psalm 47:1, “Clap your hands all you people; shout to God with a voice of triumph.”
